Heyy
I'm sorry my posts have gotten so sporadic.
Majoring in architecture has sucked literally every ounce of free time out of my life.
Also, for the first time in my life, art is killing me. My expressionist style is my worst enemy right now. Architecture drawings require an intense level of precision...to the point where my professor made me redo an entire plan because one wall was half a millimeter off.
Now, compare that to my Sharpie blobs.
So, needless to say, I'm swamped (and dying).
But I'll try to post a little more often.
I really miss you all and your lovely comments.
Here's something from a while back.

It's a real shame that not only is your free time being killed but so is your enjoyment of art it sounds like :( I think you should try harder to do more fun sharpie blobgs to help keep art fun for you.
ReplyDeleteArchitecture has always seemed really awesome to me! But yeah, the huge amount of precision required can be a bit of a killer sometimes. Keep your head up though, you'll pull through!
ReplyDeleteTell me about it.
ReplyDeleteNever major in anything you actually love to do unless you plan on making it the one activity you detest most.
I wish somebody told me this earlier.
But hang in there gal, you'll be back soon!:)
Aww I completely understand what you mean, I guess that would put anybody off art eventually when it has to be so precise. I love your updates though, like that art is absolutely incredible, you're a real talent and I never tire of seeing stuff like this, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. I'm so glad you found me because you surely are talented and I'm thankful I am able to enjoy your art. It's beautiful. It's a shame you're not able to spend more time on it.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh....what a conflict that must be. I do love this piece, it's beautiful.x
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous picture. My husband works in nanotechnology, where if something is less than a millimeter off it also has to be completely redone - hang in there. The payoff at the end will be worth it.
ReplyDeleteYeah I had an architect friend in college who was always complaining too. That's why you should switch to philosophy.
ReplyDeleteArchitecture? That's amazing, it's no shock the posts have faded away. Enjoy it, and I hope you go far! Come back whenever you can, I miss your sharpie blobs.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what happens, don't let it kill your love of art. Your essence. And hey, even if they're sporadic, we love seeing your updates, so keep them coming whenever you can. We'll still be here, and judging from the other comments, so will all of the others.
ReplyDeleteIf it feels like it's killing you, it probably means you're doing it right.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that, that is brutal. 1mm off results in a redo? That is crazy.
ReplyDeletenice...the interplay of the glass...and the texture in the sheet, all the shadow...makes for a pretty cool still life....and def agree with Beer for the shower....dont let it kill your love of art...
ReplyDeleteYeah agree with what has been said about art and wow, 1mm that is nuts. Good luck with that.
ReplyDeletethis is so pretty. I love the contrast of black & white and the red.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya! architecture how do you do it? Straight things where never my thing, concentrate on those walls do it!!! It will get better seriously.
